Counterpart Health

Design Engineer · Product Designer · Frontend Developer

I build reusable product interfaces and translate design intent into working frontend systems. I care about consistent states, accessible behavior, and implementation quality, then validate important flows with automated checks and physical device testing.

Cover Letter

Dear Counterpart Health Hiring Team,

I've applied for the UX Engineer role because I enjoy working where design systems, frontend engineering, and product behavior overlap. I specifically love identifying product growth opportunities while proactively solving the systematic constraints that come with application scaling.

While building InkVein, I’ve worked across React Native and TypeScript while integrating reusable interface patterns, accessibility, navigation, account states, and physical device testing. A lot of that work has involved turning individual UI problems into transferable reusable patterns instead of solving the same problem differently on every screen.

Counterpart interests me because this role specializes in strengthening the shared UI system that designers and engineers build from. I'm happy to bring my experience moving between design intent and implementation while continuing to grow in a more experienced design system environment.

Thank you for your consideration,Zechariah Ward

UX Engineer · Design Engineer · Frontend Developer

I'm a design engineer based in California. I like the part of product work where the interface, the code, and the behavior on a real device all have to agree. Most of my work starts in Figma, moves into React or React Native, and keeps improving after people can actually try it.

01

Current focus

Right now I am focused on gathering Alpha participants for InkVein, learning from that early feedback, and keeping Cruizn Clean supported as the business grows.

02

Design background

I care about interfaces that explain themselves, prototypes that reveal the hard parts early, and visual systems that still work once they become code.

03

Engineering background

I build mostly in TypeScript, React, Next.js, React Native, and Python, with enough backend experience to understand where product decisions meet API constraints.

04

Product philosophy

I like taking creative ideas and giving them the structure they need to become real products. I care about seeing an idea through from its earliest concept to something people can actually use, test, and improve.
